Oh, how I love the colors we’ve been able to work with at the park this past week. It takes a really dry Summer to get bright red leaves on the trees here in NE, and we’re so lucky that 2012 has been a dry year so far!

J had a blast collecting apples in our basket, playing in the leaves, and running around with me! His one-month old baby brother M made an appearance at the end of the shoot, and we kept him snuggled up in blankets while J loved on him. Too cute!

Sweet, fair little S and her gorgeous family visited the studio last week for her newborn portraits.  She had the most beautiful blonde hair I’ve seen in a while on a newborn.  She even had enough for one of our little Framboozled flower clips to stay put.  She started our session wide awake but in no time she was dreaming away on the beanbag.  She smiled throughout our session, and I think I even caught one in the portrait of her in dad’s military hat.  Enjoy your sneak peek!  ~Heidi

We were just wrapping up our pre-session consultation with mom and dad to-be a few weeks ago when mom casually mentioned her cupcake obsession.  Wouldn’t it be fun to incorporate cupcakes into a shot?!  Of course we knew just who to call, our favorite sweet shop, Sweet Indulgence.  Kerri arrived with boxes full of cupcakes iced in lavender to match I’s nursery on the day of our shoot.  I was a perfect model from start to finish.  It was hard not to share them ALL for this preview, but I have to save some excitement for their final gallery.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

After weeks of sessions where my newborns had toddler older siblings, teeny baby B came into the studio and was so EASY to photograph.  No older sibling jumping on the beanbag or rolling toys around the studio, it seemed strangely quiet during our time together!  B was so sweet and sleepy.  Her session was peaceful and perfect!  She curled right up into our fall sets and I love the vintage feel to all of the props her family chose.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

I had so much fun with these beautiful babies last week.  15 month old E was a busy girl, but she loved pausing to shower kisses on her new baby sister.  We had fun dressing them them up together and while L was eating, I was even able to get a few fun shots of just the new big sis.  While we did L’s individual portraits, dad took E for a ride to keep her busy.  When I saw she had fallen asleep, I knew we had to try for a shot of the two girls sleeping next to each other.  At 15 months old, E was officially the oldest baby I’ve ever posed!  That image gave me the goosebumps as I was shooting it.  Enjoy your sneak peek!  Can’t wait to show you the rest <3  ~Heidi

I had the pleasure of meeting this family for big sister C’s first birthday cake smash just last year.  I was so excited to see them on the calendar again so that I could help welcome their new baby boy!  Dad was excited to bring along some of his sports gear for his little man.  I actually LOVE all of the adorable Patriots themed portraits we captured and big sister C even jumped in for a few.  Going through them all I can think is that they are the shots every dad would love having with his babies!  Admittedly I’m a bit of a Pats fan myself, so perhaps I’m biased, but as I was taking these with A sleeping so soundly I knew they would be some new favs.  A rocked his whole session.  Can’t wait to show you the rest.  Enjoy your sneak peek!  ~Heidi

I knew baby B was going to be a handsome little man when I met his mom-to-be just a week before our session and she looked AMAZING.  Before I knew it, she was back with her little bundle of joy.  Mom and dad were naturals and made the shoot easy.  B slept away and even flashed me quite a few smiles.  Believe it or not, we’re already in full swing with Holiday photos here at the studio so we created a little seasonal set for B to snuggle into.   Those portraits are some of my favorites from the whole shoot.  I just love all of the warm tones of the wood and vintage sled!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

I always say that one of the best parts of this job is watching families grow.  I first met mom and dad 2 years ago when mom was pregnant with D.  D started his newborn session wide awake and ready to party… and 2 years later it was no different!  Now he was back introducing his baby sister who was also a social butterfly.  Mom mentioned that their new baby girl A had been alert since the day she was born.  She sure did start off that way, staring right into my lens with her gorgeous eyes!  After plenty of cuddling, she fell right to sleep for me and we created some beautiful newborn portraits that were “girly” this time!  D was an awesome big brother who never minded stopping in his tracks for a moment just long enough to bestow a kiss on little A.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

We’re finally starting the process of looking into new studio space and my dream is to have a little spot outdoors that I can photograph newborns in.  We’re going to be adding the option of an outdoor portion to our newborn sessions when it is warm enough, so when our good friends were in last week for a newborn session, I knew they wouldn’t mind indulging me for a few outdoor photos at the end of our session.  Handsome baby O was quite cooperative too.  He rocked every shot we did in the studio and then kept on sleeping right through our second location.  Look out mom and dad, this little guy is dangerously adorable.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Little W was one of a wave of newborn boys we’ve had at the studio lately.  September surely is the month of boys in 2012.  We started our session with all of the classics and then had some fun with mom doing a few composites, like the golf bag shot below.  Dad, a golf pro, hadn’t gotten to the studio yet when we created the shot so I was so excited to surprise him with how it turned out!  I love how tiny W looks on that golf bag.  Of course family portraits are always some of my favorites at a newborn session because I know that mom and dad will love looking back on them as their tiny little bundle of joy grows.  Enjoy your sneak peek!
