Phew! After loosing the power this week I am FINALLY caught up with all of my blog previews. And how lucky am I to end my week with this gorgeous baby? L and her family visited the studio last Friday to celebrate her first birthday and we had such a fun session. She had just started walking about a week before our session… and she was already RUNNING! This girl might just be a track star one day! I couldn’t get over how fast she was. We started the session with some family portraits then let L steal the show. Mom had the most amazing taste in beautiful dresses and adorable outfits that I could have played dress up all day. She also inspired the cake smash set with some of the photos she brought in at our pre-session consultation. I love having a little visual inspiration to play with when planning a cake smash set! Our entire office is covered with pink glitter from these stars, but it turned out to be one of my favorite sets and totally worth it. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Beautiful newborn baby R sleeps her portrait session away.

We started baby R’s session with her gazing around the studio. I love to capture family portraits during baby’s awake time so we began the session with R curled up in mom and dad’s arms. Once baby R drifted off into dream land, she was super sleepy for me! One of my favorite sets was the simple white set below where we were able to incorporate an outfit knit by her grandmother. It was still a little to big to wear, so we placed it in the bowl and let R snuggle in. What a wonderful keepsake! I think the close up of R sleeping is another new favorite. There is nothing like the simple details of a sleeping newborn to remind you of how miraculous life truly is. Enjoy your sneak peek!

When we started our session together baby J still wanted to check the place out, but before long he was putty in my hands! Once he fell asleep he was a great little poser. He rocked three adorable sets and we wrapped up with some beautiful family portraits. Enjoy your sneak peek!

This beautiful baby girl has been the perfect model since the day she was born. I had the pleasure of photographing her back when she was just days old, so I was thrilled to see she was coming in for one of our popular Little Star sessions! A is now 9 months old and as gorgeous as ever. I can’t get enough of those big brown eyes and amazing lashes. It was wonderful to catch up with mom and dad during our session and see how much A has grown. Enjoy your sneak peek!

We’ve been joking for some time here that we want to do baby superlatives with our fabulous clients from 2011. Well we haven’t gotten around to doing it yet, but I’ll tell you, I already have a nominee for “Most Expressive” 2012! Baby M was one of the most smiley babies I’ve ever met. I had to include some of the outtakes in the collage below…. all taken within just a few seconds! M laughed our entire session away and her whole face lit up any time someone spoke to her. Usually I spend much of a session acting silly and trying to elicit smiles from my little clients, but with baby M we were actually trying to get her to NOT smile just for something different. We were saying “ut oh” and “oh no” to try to keep her from cracking up! We ended up with the most adorable portraits and just about every expression imaginable. This session gives me a giant smile just thinking about what a happy girl M is. Enjoy your sneak peek!

How lucky am I that I get to see this adorable face throughout the year? Gorgeous baby A is one of my baby plan clients this year and I’m already looking forward to our next session together. We picked out some colorful spring sets for her 1 year old session and topped it off with a first birthday cake smash. Sweet Indulgence made us the perfect cake to go with A’s Minnie Mouse birthday theme. I love the way all of this color turned out. These are sure to make you smile, enjoy your sneak peek!

I have been so spoiled with all of these adorable babies lately! Baby V was completely gorgeous and full of personality. She was on the move and loved crawling around the studio. We started the session with some casual and candid family portraits and then let V steal the show with those big blue eyes. And check out those lashes. I know a lot of women who spend a lot of money to get lashes like those! This natural beauty was more interested in exploring than taking pictures, as most new crawlers are, but luckily Shaun came in at the end and stole her heart to get those last few smiles! This little boy has the most adorable features! I can’t get enough of his chubby cheeks and precious lips. Mom brought in the sweet “Born to Read” hat on the day of our session and I instantly thought of a portrait I had seen on Pinterest with a baby on a stack of Dr. Seuss books. We had these cute little vintage books laying around that I thought would be a fun spin on the idea. D wasn’t super sleepy, so we left him on his nice cozy blankets for the portrait. I love the way he looks all curled up on his books. I think we have a future book worm on our hands!
