Well here it finally is! We’ve had to keep it under wraps since before Christmas, but we are finally ready to share whether we will be painting the nursery pink or blue. To make our gender reveal extra special, we decided to let Giuliana smash a cake and have the inside color announce the baby’s sex. Thank you so much to The Organic Bloom for the beautiful frames, Sweet Indulgence for the delicious cake, Gigi’s Glitzy Boutique for Giuliana’s adorable outfit, and Eden XO for pampering me and making me look my best (as I was very hesitant to jump in front of the camera)!

And the inside is PINK! Giuliana is so thrilled that she is going to have a baby sister… can’t you tell?!

Phew! After loosing the power this week I am FINALLY caught up with all of my blog previews. And how lucky am I to end my week with this gorgeous baby? L and her family visited the studio last Friday to celebrate her first birthday and we had such a fun session. She had just started walking about a week before our session… and she was already RUNNING! This girl might just be a track star one day! I couldn’t get over how fast she was. We started the session with some family portraits then let L steal the show. Mom had the most amazing taste in beautiful dresses and adorable outfits that I could have played dress up all day. She also inspired the cake smash set with some of the photos she brought in at our pre-session consultation. I love having a little visual inspiration to play with when planning a cake smash set! Our entire office is covered with pink glitter from these stars, but it turned out to be one of my favorite sets and totally worth it. Enjoy your sneak peek!

How lucky am I that I get to see this adorable face throughout the year? Gorgeous baby A is one of my baby plan clients this year and I’m already looking forward to our next session together. We picked out some colorful spring sets for her 1 year old session and topped it off with a first birthday cake smash. Sweet Indulgence made us the perfect cake to go with A’s Minnie Mouse birthday theme. I love the way all of this color turned out. These are sure to make you smile, enjoy your sneak peek!

It seems like just yesterday that I met J’s mom before her maternity portraits. I had the pleasure of photographing J at only a few days old and I can now hardly believe he’s already 1! We had a fun morning celebrating J’s first birthday with a cake smash portrait session. We started with some traditional one year old portraits, captured his sweet bond with mom, and then let him dig into his cake. Mom loved the classic blue set we first came up with a few months ago at baby D’s session so we went with that again and it was perfect for J. It’s one of my favorite classic boy backgrounds! Enjoy your sneak peek and happy birthday J!

I got a good laugh this morning remembering the days when I was nervous to have a toddler to photograph. They can certainly be hard to catch, but now, 1 year old is one of my favorite ages! They are so curious and have the best laugh. Maybe I just like that they appreciate my humor! Always a captive audience! I love goofing around with them and chasing them all over my studio! Baby D was a fast one, but we thought of endless games to keep him busy and smiling. Mom wanted a cake smash in classic baby boy colors. This is her youngest of 4 sons! I just love the way all of that blue turned out in the photos. Enjoy your sneak peek and happy birthday baby D!

Baby M and his family visited the studio last week to celebrate his first birthday. M has 3 older siblings who loved watching him smash his cake! It was such a joy to capture the way they all doted over their baby brother. Of course they were all rewarded with some cake for doing such an awesome job. With so many helpers, we didn’t let any of that Sweet Indulgence cake go to waste! YUM! Enjoy your sneak peek.

I’ve loved photographing this little guy and his family over the past year! Baby C is so easy-going, so his first birthday portrait session was all smiles. He is so smart too. I loved watching his face light up when we sang the songs he loves. And his cake smash was perfectly “baby boy.” We made it to match his nursery and it is one of my favorite color schemes yet. Happy birthday C!

I have loved watching baby K grow over the past year. He is always so easy going and has the best sense of humor. I was excited to plan his cake smash with an airplane theme and when I passed by the little cream airplane while shopping one day, I knew it would be perfect for his session. It’s so hard to find good-looking baby toys, so I never pass one up when I see it. K had fun with all of the toys at the studio and I think this was his best session yet! Mom and dad always order an album, so I photographed this session with an album in mind, capturing lots of little details, straight down to K’s little frosting footprints! Great seeing you again mom and dad. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Another one of my sweet newborns from 2010 is turning one year old!

I had the pleasure of catching up with sweet baby A during our minis this summer, so was thrilled to hear she would be back again for a cake smash. A was on the move this time and gave us some serious exercise for each shot. Thank goodness for my trusty blocks. They were a godsend in keeping A entertained in front of my camera! It was so fun capturing another one of A’s milestones. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Baby C might win the award for our greatest traveler of 2011! We’ve had clients visit our little studio from all around New England and the East Coast, but apart from baby A from London earlier this year, baby C is one of our farthest little travelers to date. And what a good traveler she was! We had a fabulous session together. C was curious and on the move. She loved exploring all of our toys and flashed me so many great big smiles it will surely be hard to choose favorites. Of course my favorite portraits are always those where little ones seem to be staring right through the lens. Those eyes just melt me. Mom wanted an enchanted forest theme for the cake smash so we had fun coming up with something whimsical that still kept with our light, fresh aesthetic. I love the way it all came together, and C really loved devouring her cake! Enjoy your sneak peek!
