Baby R is just breathtaking! Those eyes can slice right through you. At only days old, R stared right into my camera with those eyes. So alert. So beautiful!

My favorite part of this job is watching babies grow. I love when parents visit us again for 6 month and first birthday sessions! R’s 6 month session was a blast. She was full of smiles and personality! 6 months is also a great baby age to capture family portraits. Often parents of newborns are so tired, the last thing they feel like doing is jumping in front of the camera. I just love what we captured during this session. Can’t wait to show you them all!

I sure wish I looked this fabulous at 36 weeks pregnant! T was as personable as she was beautiful… truly glowing! She was up for anything and brought along great clothing. My favorite images are her bikini shots. What a fun summer maternity prop! I can’t wait to meet this baby in a few short weeks.

Remember this fun couple?

Well, their gorgeous baby girl is already turning one year old! She was so much fun to photograph last week. Her aunt and grandmother came too and helped me get some great big smiles! Can’t wait to show you the full gallery ladies. Keep an eye on your email mom!

Do I have the best clients or what? I just loved C and her family. They had the best style, were so fun to work with, and completely gorgeous! C was full of smiles our entire session. While she loved her cake, she didn’t appreciate having to get messy. Already a lady! As long as we were singing and clapping however, she was smiling all the same. Enjoy your sneak peek and keep an eye on your email mom and dad for your full gallery today!

How gorgeous are these two sisters?! 3 and 1 can be a pretty tough combo to photograph but I must say, this session flew by. We breezed through each set so that we could squeeze in family portraits, sibling portraits AND a cake smash – all in one session! The girls were so good throughout! They loved playing with all of the different props and my antique typewriter was definitely a favorite. Here is just a peek mom and dad… your full gallery will be going up today!

Newborn E had the most adorable little doll face. All of her features were so delicate and girly. The nurses must have gone wild for her in the hospital! If you think this preview is cute, wait until you see the full gallery. It’s going up today mom and dad!

6 month olds make me so happy! How could you not smile looking at this gorgeous face? Baby J was so sweet and happy. I have something else that will make mom and dad smile…. your gallery is going up today! Yup, we’re running about a week EARLY with galleries for the first time ever thanks to my fabulous editors! Enjoy :0)

I had so much fun photographing this sweet baby boy and his parents. He was a little peanut at only 1 week old! Born Memorial Day weekend, his parents wanted to incorporate something patriotic into the shoot. I just love him in that little red bucket. And of course everyone goes wild for those owl hats so I had to include a favorite with that in the preview too. Can’t wait to show you the rest mom and dad!

This was a little boy I was dying to meet. I still remember how thrilled I was the day that mom, and old friend, called us to share her good news! Of course he was just perfect in every way and I know he’s a very lucky boy to have such amazing parents. You can tell just by the final portrait how totally in love with baby D his mom and dad are. I can’t wait to show you your full gallery! Enjoy the sneak peek!

Usually when I meet new people and tell them my profession, the first thing they say is “you must have so many beautiful photos of your daughter!” Truth be told, I don’t. The ones I do have however are cherished. They are proudly hung in our home and they bring a smile to my face every. single. day. With life moving so quickly I have to make a real effort to take portraits of my own family. While I finally hired a portrait photographer to take our family portraits this summer (go me!), with G’s 3rd birthday already approaching I decided I had to schedule a shoot in my own calendar or she’d be in preschool (gasp!) before I got her back in front of my lens.
I’m so happy I did.
I am in love with this session. I am in love with this girl. These portraits are the first time I’ve looked at her face and the thought “my girl” replaced “my baby.”
Don’t get me wrong. I was tired after shooting all day. My wrist hurt from editing. The enthusiasm for this set that I had while shopping had long since past and I’ll be really lucky if my body isn’t covered in poison ivy in 48 hours. And let’s not forget that 6pm is not a toddler’s most stellar time of day by any means. But I sit here looking at these images and I feel like I did the impossible. I sit here mesmerized by them. The thought “my girl” is replaced by “my angel.” I captured something intangible. And I feel it every time I look at them. And I will forever.
And I’m so happy I did.
