Phew!  Baby B’s newborn session was a full house!  I had so much fun capturing 3 generations of B’s family all welcoming her to the world.  4 year old M, 2 year old S, and newborn B were all a joy to photograph.  This is one seriously gorgeous family!  Enjoy your preview!

I’ve been a busy little editor today!  Here is the first of FIVE previews coming your way this afternoon as I am FINALLY caught up!  I just adored meeting the H family and getting to know them all during their maternity session.  The newest member of the family is due on December 25th!  I can’t wait to hear your good news :0)  Enjoy your preview.

Have you ever heard the saying “the shoemaker’s son always goes barefoot”?  I always wonder how my family and friends must respond when they hear “You’re so lucky your “sister, daughter, friend” is a photographer.  You must have so many great photos!”  because sadly, none of us have a whole lot of photos taken by me.  This past year has been so busy that when I leave the studio, I generally leave my camera there too.  My right arm hurts, my memory cards are full, my batteries are charging, and I need a mental break and a nice glass of red wine.  If you ask my husband to see a photo of his daughter, he will proudly whip out his wallet and show you G’s 10 month photos.  She’s now 27 months.  You see what I’m saying?

My new years resolution this year was to take more photos of my own family.  I have taken some photos of G, but the raw files are still sitting in folders on various external hard drives, likely not to be touched until I retire and take up scrap booking.  With only a few months left in 2010, I’ve decided to renew my resolution and bring that camera out in my personal time.  Come to find out, it’s not so overwhelming when you set out to take one or two candids rather than a whole session.  In fact, it’s downright fun!  I had a blast chasing around my daughter, nieces and nephew (all ages 3 and under) this weekend to capture a few shots of them in their Halloween costumes.  Enjoy your preview family :0)

Finally, a chance to sit down and blog L’s cake smash sneak peek!  Sorry for the delay!  So mom wanted to celebrate L’s 5th birthday with a cake smash.  He’s been doing them since he was a baby and she knew this milestone year would probably be the last one where we could get away with cake smashing.  We really wanted to create something that L wouldn’t hate us for later.  You know, “baby” pictures.  Not for this guy!  We wanted this cake smash to be super cool.  Mom said L was really into dinosaurs and Tonka trucks.  I talked with Kerri from Sweet Indulgence (my amazing set accomplice and confections expert!) and we ended up deciding on a truck wheel that would look like dirt when it was smashed.  Kerri added in the candy rocks (which tasted way too AMAZING by-the-way…. yes I was eating the dirt off of our set) and mom surprised L with the giant dinosaurs.  I just love how fun these turned out!

Oh, and I have to include one of L reading to his little sister.  MELT!

Remember these two adorable siblings from the spring?

Well, the stars of one of my favorite sibling shots of all time came back to visit me at the studio last week!  Mom booked two separate session back-to-back so we had plenty of time to create amazing portraits of both kids individually as well as together!  We started with A’s 6 month shoot and got some amazing holiday stuff.  My next preview up with be L’s super cool cake smash session for his 5th birthday!  Wait till you see what we came up with :0)

M and C visited the studio last week for their maternity session at over 36 weeks of pregnancy!  M looked completely fantastic and was up for anything so we had some fun.  I love getting to know couples before their little one arrives.  The real fun of course is after they are born when mom and dad can sit back and relax while I capture all of those adorable details!  I can’t wait to hear your good news M and C.  Check back next month to see the new arrival.

This little sweetheart was born to model.  She was so easy to pose and even when she woke up at the very end, she stared straight into the lens and gave us a few smiles.  Mom and A’s two grandmothers all came to the studio for the session and we had some fun girl time dressing up baby A.  I think you’ll agree she looks gorgeous in everything!  Can’t wait to show you the rest ladies.

Baby J and his family came all the way from Connecticut  to visit the studio this week.  He was the sweetest baby with the most stunning blue eyes!  Mom and dad said he was feeling under the weather, but I think they were pulling my leg because this baby was SO easy going.  The weather was gorgeous so we headed to the park for a few in the foliage which is peak in our part of New England right now.  Being outdoors allowed us to get some great photos with the family dog Stella, who was also so much fun to photograph.  Talk about an adorable family!  Enjoy your preview!

This week’s portrait session with the H family was bittersweet.  We pulled up to the beach and the lots were all empty.  No grills lining the fields or surfers pulling up after work.  There was a definite chill in the air that reminded me summer is over, the days are growing shorter, and I won’t be back to the beach to shoot until next year.  On the other hand, the quiet was beautiful.  The October sun was gorgeous as it set and the whole beach was our oyster.  I had so much fun photographing this gorgeous family as they ran and played in the sand.  I think we got some amazing portraits mom!  Thanks for making the drive down.  I know dad (who is serving overseas) will be thrilled when he sees these :0)  Enjoy your preview!

I had so much fun this past weekend meeting these gorgeous families and catching up with past clients at our Holiday portrait mini sessions.  It was a very windy day but everyone braved the cold and I think the portraits we created together were worth every shiver!  Enjoy this little sneak peek everyone!
