Last night was the first of the two beach mini sessions we are holding this summer and I had so much fun!  The weather was perfection and while I love our studio for newborn work, I adore getting outdoors for just about every other type of portrait.  And sunset is absolutely the best time of day to shoot!  If I didn’t have a 2 year old, I’d be booking sunset sessions every night I could!  The night started with C’s senior portrait session.  She’s a senior at Sutton High School in Massachusetts, a fantastic athlete, and as you can see, a gorgeous girl!  She was up for anything and her friend even helped hold my reflector for me :0)  Thanks N!  I wish I had time to do more senior sessions because they really listen SO much better than toddlers! Enjoy your preview C

Next up was a family who I just recently had in for their newborn session.  Adorable baby O is already 4 months old and they were ready for a session on the beach!  I can’t believe how fast these babies are growing up around us!  Baby O was so sweet and I loved having the chance to photograph her again and catch up with mom and dad.  Because these were mini sessions, I was going to try to limit the previews to just one or two images, but even with just 30 minutes to shoot, I have too many favorites to choose!!  Enjoy your preview!

Finally at sunset I wrapped up with an engagement session for a very fun couple.  J and C will be getting married this winter in Mexico and I was thrilled to have the chance to do their engagement session on the beach.  They were so easy going and playful, we have so many shots to choose from!  Enjoy your preview!

I had the pleasure of photographing two sets of twins last week, but C and N were far from sleepy like the last set!  We decided to head to the park because toddlers generally do better when they have some room to run around.  The boys were hard to tell apart by looking at them, but they definitely had individual personalities!  One loved sitting in the grass while the other loved to run around the park.  They did share a love of books which turned out to be the easiest way to get them into the same frame!  Mom said they had very few pictures of the two boys together so I selected a few of those for the preview.  Can’t wait to show you the rest mom and dad.  Enjoy!

It has been some time since I have traveled on location for a newborn session, but last week I had the opportunity to visit a wonderful family and capture this special time for them.  I headed up to central mass last Wednesday to meet baby T, who is the new niece of one of my former photography students!  It was great to visit with her family again and I loved having the variety of a new location to shoot in.  My job was even more fun because T’s GG had gathered so many wonderful props for me to choose from!  It was a very hot day so we did most of the shoot right out on their deck under an awning.   Thunderstorms were in the forecast and we barely beat them for our garden shots.  It actually started sprinkling at the very end of the shoot!  I adore those outdoor shots though so I am so glad we got them in!

Will I ever get caught up on previews?!  B and J came down for their maternity session last Tuesday and I’ve been so excited to share it with you.  They were a gorgeous couple and were up for anything.  I had fun playing with my new 35mm lens and heading outdoors despite the rain drops.  It’s always so fun getting to know a couple before their baby arrives.  Can’t wait to meet your little one soon!

J and B headed down to the studio from Central Mass last week and we had a wonderful maternity session.  Mom was in her last month of pregnancy and looked completely amazing.  We started in the studio for all of the classic portraits and then headed outdoors for some more variety.  As usual, the outdoor portraits are my favorite!  Enjoy your preview J and B.  Can’t wait to meet your little one!

We have a newborn baby in the studio every day this week… 2 on some days…. and I am LOVING every single session.  I have been gathering props for some time now and just love how different each and every session is turning out with all of them.  I loved photographing baby C and her beautiful family the other day.  Because we were away last week, most babies this week are a bit older than I normally photograph.  All close to the 2 week mark they have taken a bit longer to settle, but once they are out, they are OUT!  C was no exception and rocked so many sets, I had a very hard time choosing for her preview.  I must say that the family photos are some of my favorites.  You photographer’s checking out the blog might be interested to know that I have been shooting all of my newborn sessions lately with ONLY my 60mm macro lens.  Yep.  It’s a little extra exercise, but I’m loving the results.  Thanks for the great session baby C and family.  I loved meeting you all.  Enjoy your preview.

Last week my family took our first week off since beginning this business.  While it was a much needed break from the photography business, I did break out the camera once or twice  for a few summer photos on the beach.  We spent one afternoon on the beach with Kerri from Sweet Indulgence and her family and let the kids dig into some tasty treats!  I may have broken a lens and lost my blackberry during our travels, but overall our time off was nothing but fun!  Enjoy your preview Kerri :0)

After a week away from the studio it was so nice to return to a few adorable newborn girls. I was really missing cuddling these babies! Baby P was the first in and a dream to photograph. She was sweet and sleepy and gorgeous! I planted a new garden yesterday morning and I think it is my favorite yet. My poor hydrangeas didn’t make it through our week away with no water but I must say I am very happy with the results. P was a perfect model in the new set up. We did the whole session backwards because P wasn’t sleepy at first, but as soon as we laid her in the garden, she was all zzzzzz’s. Enjoy your preview mom and dad. It was wonderful meeting you and your baby girl!

I have had the pleasure of photographing this family since last fall for mom’s maternity session and each new session is a new favorite of mine!  These two girls were so much fun to photograph once again.  We had an evening portrait session, which can sometimes be a bewitching hour for babies, but 6 month old baby L was full of smiles and completely adorable.  M was such a great big sister, smiling for the camera and holding her baby sister up.  Thank you for such a great session A family!  Enjoy your preview.
