It was only a few weeks ago that 1 year old C was in for her first birthday portraits. Baby S decided she wanted to join the party 3 weeks early and mom and dad were brave enough to venture out with both baby girls only 6 days later! Baby S was a dream and finished the shoot in record time! Enjoy your preview mom and dad.

Baby A and her family came to the studio this week and we had such a wonderful session. She ate and slept like a champion! Baby A’s dad was one of our finalists in our hot dad contest so I can’t wait to show mom and dad the rest of this gallery. The daddy-daughter shots are so adorable! I especially love the portrait I talked mom into taking below! I wish I had those with my baby girl ;0( but that is why I always encourage mom’s to jump into the session for a few. You will always love looking back on them! Enjoy your preview.

This sweet little girl surprised her parents by arriving three weeks early! The family traveled all the way up from New York City for their portrait session so we had to do a little juggling to get them into the studio as soon as possible. Baby A was 2 1/2 weeks old, which is a bit older than we usually photograph newborns, but she was just wonderful to work with. She was a hungry girl (after my own heart) so she fed much of the session. In between her feedings she was sweet, sleepy and easy to pose! She also had the most amazing lashes. Enjoy your preview mom and dad. Thank you so much for choosing us to capture this special time for you and for making the trip up to our studio!

My last newborn of the week, baby S, came to the studio with her family on the hottest day this week! It was the first time EVER that we’ve had to put on the AC during a newborn session! Other than us all being very warm, the session went off without a hitch. Big sister L and dad came for the beginning of the session when we were able to get some adorable family shots. While S was eating, I had to snap a few of L. Both such beautiful girls! When L and dad went out for a little lunch, we called Shaun up to help us with some of the hanging shots. Baby S slept through it all and was a complete joy to photograph. It was so nice meeting you all. Enjoy your preview.

Baby N was our first newborn in the studio this week and he was such a joy to photograph. He was pretty hungry, as they all are around the two week mark, but in between eating he was nice and sleepy for us. He startled easily so we had to spend a little time getting him back to sleep after each move, but he rocked every set up we put him in! He even showed his dangerous side in our hanging shot! Little daredevil! Of course, that set up isn’t really dangerous… mom and dad can testify to how much I edit out of those hanging shots! The bean bag is always just underneath and there are plenty of hands nearby. I wouldn’t want anyone seeing these and thinking it’s a good idea to hang a newborn out from a stick! Enjoy your preview J and M. It was great catching up!

I had the pleasure of photographing this little doll face yesterday and she was just perfection! Mom brought along a beautiful knit blanket (pictured below) and I loved working it into the shoot. It had special meaning because mom knit it herself! I wish my mom had been there to talk knitting with her. Unfortunately I know nothing on the subject besides how to make knits look good in a portrait. We always encourage clients to bring along special keepsakes to their newborn shoots. Some of my favorite portraits are created out of those keepsakes as incorporating them forces me to get a little more creative! Enjoy your preview mom, I loved meeting you both!

Baby girl A came to visit the studio last week and was such a joy to photograph. Her delicate little features were just perfection. A will be the last newborn to be photographed in the beautiful cream wrap below. We found it in the studio laundry on Sunday and it had gone through the dryer and shrunk! Thankfully she modeled it beautifully along with just about everything else we put her in! Enjoy your preview mom and dad.

This sweet little girl and her parents came in last week for a newborn shoot and I had so much fun working with them all. She was a little peanut and only a week old, so I thought for sure she would sleep. Not her. She wanted to stay up and enjoy her first modeling gig! And what a model she was! She stared straight into the camera with her big blue eyes. She did sleep the first 15 minutes or so, and then the other 2 1/2 hours, we had to get creative. I planted a new white garden which I think really brought out her stunning eyes. I think we got some amazing shots at this session! Enjoy your preview mom and dad.

One-month-olds can be tricky, but I just couldn’t say “no” when mom called to get her newborn twins in. Our schedule is always changing here depending on when babies are born and we happened to have a spot in the studio just in time to capture some portraits of these little ones before they were no longer newborns. And I’m so glad we did! These two were so much fun to hold while they were falling asleep and were full of smiles as they were drifting off. They didn’t sleep long, but just enough to get some adorable shots like the ones below! Enjoy your preview.
