Oh sweet baby M!  He was one hungry boy.  Mom did an amazing job feeding him, and feeding him, and feeding him some more.  In between all of that eating he actually slept a little for us and we were able to get some beautiful portraits.  I just adore the family image below.  Seeing mom and dad’s joy and complete adoration, despite the exhaustion I know they were feeling, is so beautiful to me!  Doesn’t that just sum up the newborn experience?!  Enjoy your preview mom and dad.  And great job!

It was only a little over a year ago that I was photographing newborn baby C at her home.  In fact, I didn’t even have a studio yet!  Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the newest member of the family and trying to capture some sibling portraits of the two babies.  We have been thrilled to be getting so many calls lately from families who are expecting baby number 2.  It is such a joy to watch our families grow.  Sometimes our head is spinning reigning in two babies, but the resulting images are always completely worth the chaos!  Enjoy your preview W family!

I often joke that parents should stop by for their session on the way home from the hospital!  We know how hard it is to get out of the house with a newborn baby, but truly, the younger they are for a newborn photo session, the better.  Well J and A took me seriously and they brought baby S to meet me at just 4 days old!  She was so much fun to photograph.  She rocked every set until the very end when we got some adorable portraits with her eyes open too.  Such an angel!  To top it off, dad had an awesome tattoo in honor of his baby girl and we were able to get a fantastic image of baby S curled up on top of his arm!  Enjoy your preview mom and dad.

A was my second newborn on Monday and while she started the session wide awake, she was soon putty in my hands!  I was gasping as I was taking her portraits.  The lips!  The lashes!  So beautiful.  I swear every pose I have her in, I also have a close up of those eye-lashes.  I couldn’t resist.  Anyone who knows my obsession with mascara will know just how many eyelash shots I must have taken.  I don’t know how I will ever narrow them down!  Enjoy your preview mom and dad.

On Monday we had back-to-back newborns at the studio!  It’s funny because both girls were so similar to each other.  They both had beautiful skin, gorgeous long lashes, and names I love! :0)  The only real difference was their personalities.  Baby G came in in the morning and was so alert, she wanted to socialize more than sleep!  We did get some beautiful shots of her all curled up and sleeping.  We even managed the stick shot with lots of hands and dozens of photos to composite!  One of my favorites was from the beginning of our session when G wasn’t into the whole sleeping thing.  I just adore the image of her on mom’s shoulder looking right into the camera like, “what do you want from me?”  So adorable!  Enjoy your preview!

Newborn baby K was so wonderful to photograph last week!  We are in the process of renovating the studio, and because nothing ever goes as planned (in the arena of babies or construction!), some of our rennovating downstairs had to be rescheduled on the same day K’s photo session was rescheduled to upstairs.    We called mom and dad to offer them another date, but they were so excited to come in that they decided to put up with the extra commotion.  (Thanks for being so easygoing!)  Mom and dad were right, K was definitely a sleeper!  She slept like a dream though our whole session including the time with her 2 year old brother.  I had so much fun photographing this family.  Can’t wait to show you the rest.

Baby E was another adorable newborn who had her first professional photo shoot last week!  Mom and dad mentioned they loved black and white photos so I was inspired to edit their whole preview that way.  I do so much work in color that it is fun for me to practice my black and white conversions now and then.  Of course, client galleries are always a mix of black and white and color images.  We also were able to use some of my new darker backgrounds which always look beautiful when converted to black and white.  Enjoy your preview mom and dad, it was lovely to spend the afternoon with you!

I have been so blessed to meet the most adorable newborns in the past week!  I can’t wait to share these previews with you today.  Baby R was just perfect.  He had lashes and lips that I couldn’t get over.  He started the session wide awake so we used that time to get some family portraits.  Once he finally settled to sleep, we got some adorable shots of him curled up and sleeping.  The last image of him in the basket is a favorite from the session.  I think I may design some holiday cards inspired by the red pears!  Enjoy your preview!

I just adored this family.  3 year old M was one of the sweetest older siblings I’ve ever had at a newborn shoot.  He was gentle and patient and full of kisses for his baby sister L.  Clearly I love their images together because it is taking up the majority of this preview!  After M left with dad and grampa, we were able to get some beautiful portraits of little L all on her own.  She was an incredibly strong newborn and she knew just how she wanted to be posed.  Luckily, she looked gorgeous no matter how she was posed!  Enjoy your preview!

Check out that hair!  Baby R was all girl and I just adored her curls.  She was an alert little lady, but she let us take a few shots in between her feedings and we ended up with some adorable stuff!  How could we not with that face??  Enjoy your preview mom and dad.
