I remember as a kid hearing over and over “I can’t believe how big you’ve gotten.” “Where does the time go?” “I remember changing your diapers.” I’m sure every kid hears the same sayings, and can never understand until they have children of their own. I find myself outwardly repeating all of these cliches over and over these days. Because honestly, “WHERE DOES the time go?!”
It seems like yesterday that I held baby K in the hospital at only a few days new. I had the pleasure of taking her newborn portraits and then creating the family’s Christmas cards. And now here it is, already approaching her first birthday! With life getting busier and busier for both our families, I feel so lucky to be a photographer, because it means that many more times we are able to get together throughout the year! Can’t wait to show you all we captured together!

I was so thrilled when I heard the news months ago that a couple would be traveling from London to capture their maternity and newborn portraits with us! Seriously?!?! I wanted to make their portraits everything they hoped for and more so we started in the studio and then headed to the park for a few more colorful images. I love getting to know couples before baby arrives. I think it is great for them to see the studio and meet me before bringing their new bundle of joy in for the first time. Especially when they are traveling over the Atlantic to get here! C and M are totally gorgeous (as you can see) and made my job easy. I wish you could hear their charming accents right through the computer screen. They’re talking moving back to Boston someday and I hope it’s soon so that I can continue to capture this family as it grows! I can’t wait to hear your good news and meet your little on C and M. Thank you for choosing me to capture this special time in your lives. I can’t wait to show you your full gallery!

Baby C was so much fun to photograph! All he did was smile and laugh. Some babies really take a lot of effort when trying to elicit a smile. Not C! We were done with our session in record time because no matter where I placed him, I would peek out from behind my camera, and he would crack up! Just getting this preview ready had me smiling from ear to ear. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Oh baby E! This girl has kept me smiling since the day I met her. Just look at that face! I remember her being wide awake as a newborn. A social butterfly! At one year old she still steals the show. I was so thrilled to get back outdoors and shoot again last week. Even in the mid day sun we were able to capture some gorgeous images with the help of dad who gladly held the reflector for me. Thanks dad! I’m now really looking forward to all of our summer sessions at the park this season. Enjoy your preview!

If you’ve been following our blog since last spring, you may remember all of the newborn garden shots we created at the studio. Last week I finally felt it was time to break the garden out again! I went to the garden shop and picked out some beautiful pink tulips. We planted them in our garden box out behind the studio and rolled it in carefully. There was only one problem. We built walls inside the studio last fall. Walls with doorways. Doorways that apparently don’t fit our garden through them. But what about all of the beautiful tulips??? My heart was set on the picture I had in my mind. Shaun knew what was coming and got out of the studio. He couldn’t stand to watch. Five girls spent an hour wrestling with a rain soaked garden box that must have weighed a ton. Mud splashed on the floor and all over us. We tried lifting, pushing, even sawing part of the box off. There was only one solution. We had to take the door off the hinges and pry that door frame off. I was getting this picture!! And we did! And it was totally worth it! With a power sander and a little paint, our door will look like new again. But that picture will last forever.
And what about newborn baby A? She was absolutely gorgeous and gladly snuggled into the garden made just for her. I think she looks like a princess surrounded by all of those flowers! Enjoy your preview!

I just adored my shoot with baby C last week. She was perfectly relaxed and sleepy through out our session together. Mom and dad were beaming with pride and seemed like they had a lot of fun watching their little girl make her debut. This little one is surely a princess! Enjoy your preview!

Little baby O was such a dream to photograph last week. She made a healthy, happy, and very early arrival! In fact, her newborn session was originally scheduled for a month from now! Like all babies, she had her own schedule and I’m so happy I had the opportunity to meet her even sooner. She was so sweet and sleepy and I had fun getting to know her family. Doesn’t mom look amazing?! Enjoy your preview!

B had to be one of the easiest 6 month olds I’ve ever photographed. ALL he did was smile. And his smile was contagious. I found myself laughing the entire session! I could have shared EVERY image in this sneak peak, but I will restrain myself so mom and dad can be surprised when they see their final gallery! Enjoy your preview.

I have had so much fun photographing this family over the past year, I can hardly believe how the time has flown. Mom and dad are like old friends and we’re always so excited when they visit the studio. A and D did not disappoint with their cake smash session. They were full of smiles and personality. A was a total ham and D was all business. Twin cake smashes are my favorite because I love watching how differently each baby attacks their cake! Their individuality always shines through. Enjoy your preview!

The best part of my job is watching families grow. I photographed big brother D two years ago when he was just born. This time around he was on the move! We finally got him to jump into a shot at the end of our session and it was totally worth the effort. He was so sweet kissing his baby brother. Baby brother D slept right through the commotion and gave us some beautiful newborn portraits. Enjoy your preview.
