We have had our share of busy toddlers at the studio this month!  18 month old R was definitely a workout to capture on camera but boy was he adorable!  He and his family visited us last week and we had a ball building blocks and playing with all of his favorite toys.  Enjoy your preview!

I had so much fun photographing these two gorgeous sisters last week.  16 month old A was such a doll and so amazingly good during the entire 2 1/2 hour session.  Her little sister H was not quite as quiet as her big sister, but we did get one nice sleepy period out of her where she rocked holding her head up like no other.  Seriously.  She was up there long enough for me to change lenses twice and take the pose with and without a hat!  Champ!  I can’t wait to show you all of these mom and dad.  Congratulations on two beautiful and sweet baby girls!

With our school vacation mini sessions fast approaching, we thought it would be a perfect time to share some fashion inspiration.  Our designer Christina picked out these adorable outfits from one of our favorite stores: Gap.  These outfits would be perfect for our mini sessions as they are cozy and classic in soft muted colors.  Our studio sets for the day will be mostly neutrals and creams with touches of turquoise in some of our furnishings.  Just wait until you see the fun we are going to have!

2 year old S visited the studio last week and was such a sweetheart!  Her big blue eyes just made me melt.  She was one busy girl (as every parent of a toddler understands well!) so I basically spent an hour chasing her around and making funny noises hoping she would find me entertaining!  The more toddlers I photograph, the less I need my gym membership!  I’m happy to say we captured some amazing shots of those gorgeous eyes and beautiful smile at the same time!  Enjoy your preview.

M and W visited the studio last week for their maternity session.  Mom-to-be had so many fabulous ideas.  They don’t know what sex the baby is yet so they just call the baby “teeny tiny tenney”!  They had an adorable knit blanket for me to incorporate into our session.  I love when clients bring in special keepsakes to personalize their sessions, it keeps the creative juices flowing!  M also had some gorgeous shoes and after living in Europe for some time, neither of the two minded jumping in front of the window for some more intimate portraits.  I kept commenting that M was a perfect model, so comfortable and content in her pregnancy.  I just adore the image below of them snuggling.  Can’t you just feel them dreaming of baby?? :0)  Such a magical time in life!  Enjoy your preview.

I was so happy to start my day with B last week.  He has always been so much fun to photograph.  Full of smiles and so easy-going.  This time we were celebrating his first birthday with a cake smash.  Just before the “smash” part of our session, dad asked me “so do the kids usually eat a lot of the cake?”  and my answer was “no, they generally just have a few bites and then play with it.”  Boy was I wrong!  B tackled his cake like no other.  He absolutely loved every bit of it!  Just look at his excitement in the middle image.  That’s when he realized we were actually going to let him eat it!  Too funny!  Enjoy your preview C family!

You may recognize this gorgeous girl from her sessions over the past year.  I was lucky enough to see her again last week, but this time for a family session.  I must have the best clients in the world.  A family this gorgeous certainly makes my job easy!  We had fun laughing and playing and mom and dad finally got to see my lunacy first hand from in front of the lens rather than behind it!  Enjoy your preview P family.

We ended November on a high note with beautiful baby B.  She started the session wide awake but eventually settled into being a perfect little model.  During those awake periods is when I love to get all of the sweet detail shots.  I just adore those tiny little fingers!  I’ve been working on previews all day so there will more to come as the week goes on!  In the meantime we will be holding 6 more sessions here at the studio before the week is out!  Enjoy your preview S family!

Dear parents of toddlers: you’re not alone.  I hear it said over and over: “they are so smiley all of the time, but they just don’t sit still” Every toddler session goes the same way.  Often we set up for a shot and end up with this:

But, that is the magic of this age.  We try to keep them busy with activities and hope to get some smiles before they’ve run off to discover something new!  My daughter is just growing out of this stage so I know it well.  When you do get their attention, their expressions will melt you and make all of the running around worth it.  Like S.  It seems like just yesterday that she was sleeping away on my beanbag.  Now she’s on the go and exploring her world!  We had so much fun last week capturing her portraits and editing these brings me a great big smile.  Enjoy your preview!

Our most affordable sessions!

You’re talking and we’re listening.  While most of our days are filled very far in advance with sweet sleepy newborns, I really love photographing little people of all ages and don’t often get the opportunity.  Many people we know with older children, or multiple children, really just want ONE AMAZING portrait of their children to hang on their wall.  They don’t need a 2 hour session with 50 photos to choose from.  They’re not looking for albums or large wall displays.  They just want one WOW portrait to proudly display and share with family and friends.  And we want them to have it.  We’ve designed our upcoming mini-sessions just for them and we’re even holding them on school vacation to make it easy on parents!

Our mini sessions are perfect for baby clients who want to capture a quick milestone like sitting up or crawling and wonderful for school aged children who’s parents want something a little nicer than their school picture to hang in their home and capture their child’s true personality.

Our 2010-2011 mini sessions will be short 20 minute session where we work to get that one perfect shot.  Portraits will be simple and classic with minimal fuss.  We’re shedding the props and outfit changes for these sessions and focusing on what you love most, that adorable face!  Sessions will be approximately 20 minutes and result in a gallery of 8-10 images to choose from.  Best of all, there is no minimum investment after our minis!

To make this deal even more yummy, Sweet Indulgence of Warwick, RI will be serving the worlds most amazing hot chocolate complimentary to you all day!
