Phew! I am way behind on previews, but thankfully my editors here have been helping me out of the weeds! We have so many exciting things to share with you all in the coming months! In the meantime, here are just a few of the adorable babies we have been photographing lately. Last week baby M came to visit the studio. I think it was the busiest day we’ve had in a while. Baby M has two adorable older siblings (ages 3 and 22 months) and mom brought along two fabulous ladies to help with the three kids. We also had people popping into the studio (which is unusual for us) so I felt a little like my head was spinning as we started. Baby M was wide awake in the beginning of our shoot so I had Shaun push back our next session so that we could relax and have a little extra time to get the perfect shots. We managed a quick couple of shots with the older children before they headed out for lunch and then finally things all settled and mom and I got to enjoy playing with a finally-very-sleepy baby M. Once he was out he was quite the little poser! Sometimes you just need that extra half hour to make everything come together! Baby M turned out to be absolutely dreamy to photograph! It was wonderful meeting you P family, thank you for choosing us to capture this special time for you!

Everyone’s full previews will be up tomorrow, but tonight I decided to do a little editing for myself :0) This is part of a little project I am working on with the amazing Kerri Fusco of Sweet Indulgence. Besides my entire family now being addicted to her cupcakes, Kerri also has an eye for all things beautiful. The baby girl pictured below has been a wonderful client of mine since she was born and when I saw her cake smash coming up in the calendar, I knew she would be the perfect little model for what Kerri and I had been talking about in months past. Here are a few of my favorite shots from our cake smash together. Kerri made the amazing cake, picked up the roses for me, drove the cake in her lap to the park, and help me hang the decorations. She jokes that she wishes she could carry me in her pocket to photograph her work… I seriously wish I could carry her in MY pocket as the stylist for my shoots! Thanks again Kerri. Enjoy this sneak peak. You can see more of beautiful baby O on my blog tomorrow for her full preview and more of this project in the months to come :0)
pardon the color if it is off… i just cant seem to nail it on my laptop!!

This summer we ran 2 sunset mini-session specials and Monday night was the last of the two. Apparently I didn’t reference the calendar when planning the mini sessions and this past Monday was actually a FREE beach day! The beach was pretty packed when we started, but I know just where to hike to avoid the crowds (to some degree at least). Of course by sunset things were calm except for the child who ran by and STOLE my flip flops! Other than losing my favorite pair of Havaianas, the night went off without a hitch. Thank you to the many gorgeous families that came out on a very hot evening. Our next session specials are this fall’s Holiday Portrait Sessions and there are only a few spots left.
Here are just a few favorites! Until next summer :0( enjoy your previews!

I haven’t seen this family in a year, but I get to smile at baby G’s picture EVERY day! Baby G is the adorable newborn posed in a pumpkin on my wall. I can’t believe her first birthday is already fast approaching. Her family visited the studio for a first birthday cake smash session and we had so much fun. Our cake by sweet indulgence was perfectly coordinated and G loved every last bit of it. We adults did too as we were eating it off of the floor at the end of the session :0) Enjoy your preview!

Some sessions start out a little shaky. Occasionally, we have to make lemonade out of lemons! This was one of those sessions. Mom had to move the appointment a bit earlier due to work and unfortunately it was nap time for 6 month old N. She wanted no part of having her picture taken when we began. After a bottle we decided to head to the park and see if she would cheer up outdoors. Boy did she ever! She adored sitting in my basket and was full of smiles. Big brother L was so good the whole session and in the end we achieved some adorable portraits of them both! Enjoy your preview!

Baby C visited the studio last week and we had such a fun morning. Mom was up for anything and because C was on the verge of walking, I thought it would be fun to head outdoors for some variety. I don’t think we ended up with a single bad shot! The light was gorgeous and C is one of the most photogenic babies I’ve ever had in front of the lens. He was just full of smiles and laughter! Enjoy your preview. It was a pleasure as always!

Baby W and his family came down to RI for their portrait session last week and they were so fun to photograph. They brought their big sweet dog along with them so we headed outdoors for their shoot as we keep the studio pet free for our newborns. I couldn’t believe how well behaved and gentle this one year old Mastiff was. It was so wonderful to capture the two babies interacting together. We got some great shots! There’s one of my favorites below. Baby W was so adorable on his own as well. His big blue eyes stand out in every shot! Enjoy your preview!

This week I had a great time photographing the adorable A family. 2 year old M was so grown up and well behaved and 8 month old R couldn’t have been more adorable! We started at the studio for some classic portraits and then headed outdoors for some more creative shots. The boys were so easy the whole time! If only I could get smiles like that out of my two year old! Enjoy your preview A family. It was a pleasure!

She already has good taste.
It started a few weeks ago. G’s second birthday was approaching and we decided we were going to go all out and get her a gorgeous redwood swingset for our yard. She’s really into playgrounds these days so we were sure she would be thrilled. The Walpole Woodworkers brochure was laying around the living room for weeks and we continually asked G if she was excited for the new playground. Her reply EVERY time was “yes. And Gu-ee-aana have birfday cake?” Clearly she had priorities. And of course the question “what do you want for your birthday” was always met with the same answer: “cake.”
On Thursday we had the swingset installed and after playing on it all evening, thoroughly exhausted, G stumbled inside and remembered something important was missing from her birthday surprise….. “Gu-ee-aaana have cake?”
We called our good friend and cupcake queen Kerri from Sweet Indulgence to make the cupcakes for the little party we were throwing G on Sunday. When we asked Giuliana what flavor she wanted, she replied “how bout red velvet?” She’s two. She not only knows red velvet is a flavor, but she knows that’s the flavor she wants. I love this girl.
Sunday afternoon rolls around and while G was napping we decorated the whole yard with ladybug balloons and red roses. We thought G would be thrilled when she woke up! Boy, were we wrong. She was all dressed to head outside and she stopped dead in her tracks. She wanted those balloons. Inside. I offered to bring one balloon inside for her and much to my dismay, this was how G felt about my offer:

“I WANT ALL OF THE BALLOONS INSIDE” she declared as she banged her head on the floor. Oh boy. Welcome terrible twos.
Only one thing could save the day. Cake. Kerri’s cupcakes. (Just voted RHODE ISLAND’S BEST by-the-way :0)) Kerri swung by before the party and as soon as she got out of the car, G perked right up. She took one look at Kerri and said “I have cake!” Kerri set up this awesome display and saved the day :0)

Giuliana turned out to be one happy birthday girl… and got to eat her cake too!

Last night was the first of the two beach mini sessions we are holding this summer and I had so much fun! The weather was perfection and while I love our studio for newborn work, I adore getting outdoors for just about every other type of portrait. And sunset is absolutely the best time of day to shoot! If I didn’t have a 2 year old, I’d be booking sunset sessions every night I could! The night started with C’s senior portrait session. She’s a senior at Sutton High School in Massachusetts, a fantastic athlete, and as you can see, a gorgeous girl! She was up for anything and her friend even helped hold my reflector for me :0) Thanks N! I wish I had time to do more senior sessions because they really listen SO much better than toddlers! Enjoy your preview C

Next up was a family who I just recently had in for their newborn session. Adorable baby O is already 4 months old and they were ready for a session on the beach! I can’t believe how fast these babies are growing up around us! Baby O was so sweet and I loved having the chance to photograph her again and catch up with mom and dad. Because these were mini sessions, I was going to try to limit the previews to just one or two images, but even with just 30 minutes to shoot, I have too many favorites to choose!! Enjoy your preview!

Finally at sunset I wrapped up with an engagement session for a very fun couple. J and C will be getting married this winter in Mexico and I was thrilled to have the chance to do their engagement session on the beach. They were so easy going and playful, we have so many shots to choose from! Enjoy your preview!
