I first met mom and dad “to-be” back in the spring for their maternity session.  Equally as pregnant at the time, mom and I shared lots in common including due dates quite close together!  She was expecting a baby boy and I a girl.  We lived close by and even bumped into each other out shopping!  Having babies close together meant I was out on maternity leave when J was a newborn so we scheduled a 3 month session instead.  I just couldn’t wait to meet this little guy!  Baby J was awesome during his session.  I loved capturing his big 3-month-old smiles and giggles.  We really wore him out with all of those pictures because by the end, he even drifted off for some classic newborn-style portraits fast asleep.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Baby M’s family has been with HHP since before 2-year-old K was born! Heidi photographed their first maternity and K’s newborn shoot, and I was lucky enough to get to photograph M in her mama’s belly and in the studio.

M’s nursery is decorated with purple butterflies, and we wanted to subtly add a few to her sets. This butterfly looked right at home in our purple garden! M was also quite the social butterfly during her family photos, trying to stay awake to take in all the action.

Big sister K was so proud to have a baby sister, and held her, sang to her, and posed wherever we asked her to. I was impressed! Of course, mom and dad are stunning, too. Way to make my job easy, B family!

E and R’s family vacations in Hyannis Port every Summer, and it happened to be the perfect time to get maternity photos done during their stay! We took advantage of the perfect light and quintessential Cape backdrop to capture their soon-to-be family of three (well, five, counting their two energetic dogs!).

Sunset light is always the best for beach shoots, but the soft glow seemed to fit this session especially well. It created such a poignant, anticipatory feel for the photos, and absolutely matched this mama’s glow.

It was lovely to meet you, E and K, and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your vacation!

We’ve got all sorts of cute going on with this session! M, his two adorable bottom teeth, and his cookie monster cake were just too much. Mom wanted a cookie monster theme that matched M’s blue and green bedroom, so we decided to do something a little different with the cake and background. Sweet Indulgence definitely knocked it out of the park with the cake…it’s just so creative and cute! I love the shots where M is so focused on getting that frosting into his mouth.  :)

Happy Birthday, baby M! We’re looking forward to your next session.

I just love this little lady!  I didn’t think it was possible for baby S to get any cuter when I met her at her newborn session.  Then, I was pretty sure that there wasn’t a more adorable baby around at her 6 month session.  Of course, she showed up for her 1st birthday cake smash full of smiles and sweet as ever!  The whole family is crazy photogenic so it is no wonder that S rocked one of my favorite cake smash sessions ever.  Even big brother was a breeze to photograph during every one of our sessions together.  THAT is impressive mom and dad!  I started narrowing down favorites for this blog sneak peek and I had 115 FAVORITES.  I don’t know who is in bigger trouble with this gallery, me, or mom!  I want every one of these and they aren’t even my kids.  Okay, I would take these two cutie pies any day too!  Enjoy your sneak peek.

Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable family during the kids’ birthday week.  We had a fun session at the park, playing guitar and running around!  This time around we headed down to the bay to play.  We had one HOT session!  It was mid day, almost 90 degrees, humid and we had virtually no shade, but the whole family were troopers and we got some adorable photos.  I broke out lots of fun toys to match their vintage style T-shirts at the start of the session, then we switched to classic nautical for some family photos.  At the end, we just couldn’t resist cooling off with our toes in the water and getting a shot of the littlest man in his new big boy pants!  That one totally melts me.  Enjoy your sneak peek and happy birthday kids!!

It has been so fun catching up with my baby plan clients in my first few weeks back to the studio.  Our baby planners get scheduling priority, so of course they were the first to get in after my maternity leave.  And how lucky have I been to return to all of my favorite, adorable, smiling faces!  I last saw baby G for her newborn session where she slept away for me.  Now, at 6 months, she is full of personality!  We had fun playing dress up and then dad saved the day at the end with some videos on his phone to get those last few smiles.  It especially came in handy in the garden where G was more interested in eating the flowers than posing with them!  My kind of girl.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

I was so excited to see baby A on my schedule last week.  One of my baby planners, A’s first session here was so sweet and classic baby girl.  You may not know, but you can start a baby plan with our studio any time during baby’s first year, even if you miss getting in for a newborn session!  I remembered A’s gorgeous eyes and sweet little smiles from our last session and couldn’t wait for the chance to photograph her again.  This time around, big brother jumped in for a few.  The perfect time to take sibling portraits is when baby is sitting up on their own.  Add a gorgeous summer day and colorful backdrop to two adorable kids and you can’t go wrong.  I love the way these turned out, and I know mom will too!

Last week started off in my favorite way; a fun first birthday cake smash with an adorable, smiley baby!  R seemed to love having her picture taken.  She was full of expression and so playful with mom and dad.  Mom picked out my favorite color scheme for their cake smash.  Not only did the pink and turquoise combine for a soft girly set, they made R’s gorgeous blue eyes shine in every frame.  Thanks for all of the fun R family!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Another one of my adorable newborns from 2011 turned one year old recently and celebrating with her family was the perfect way to come back from my maternity leave.  We originally had our session planned for last Monday, but with our area experiencing some serious thunderstorms, it was dark as night in the studio and we decided to reschedule.  The H family made it in on Friday instead and we had a fabulous session together.  This family holds a special place in my heart.  They traveled from London for both their maternity and newborn sessions last year and they took part in a very special project we started back then and are finally about to share with you!  You can learn more about that project and see a sneak peek here: A Birth Story Preview (warning: get the tissues).  For A’s first birthday session, mom and dad loved soft girly colors and some of our previous floral back drops.  I was in the mood to create something new so we surprised them with these giant handmade flowers!  A was full of smiles from start to finish.  Can’t wait to show you the rest mom and dad!
