20-month-old little L, the same one with her mom in the flowers a few posts ago! I loved working with her- she was equally sassy and sweet, quiet and active. You can see in her photos how caring and loving she was with her doll in the carriage and the bear she had a tea party with. Such a gorgeous model too- check out those eyelashes!

Can’t wait to show you the rest, mom!

Tea Party and Carriage Photo Shoot, Toddler Studio Photoshoot by Heidi Hope PhotographyBLOG_SIGNATURE

Just HAD to share a few of these from a recent shoot with this beautiful pair. Mom spotted these trees on the way to our original outdoor location, and we stopped on the way back to grab a couple shots. 20-month-old L was picture-perfect for her whole shoot, and was so enchanted by the flowers. I’ll share more of this shoot soon!

Who else wants to use these gorgeous blooms for their photos?! They’ll be around until mid-May! :)

I first met this family back when mom was expecting big-sister-to-be A.  I was so honored that they traveled to our studio all the way from London!  I had the pleasure of capturing A’s first year and was so happy to hear that baby #2 was on the way after they moved back to the states.  Not only are they a super gorgeous family who makes my job easy, but they’re also just plain fun to hang around with!  I always love our sessions.  We headed to the park for part of their first maternity session at HHP, so we decided to head to the Bay last week for a different feel.  We had to brave the wind, but I’m so glad we did.  I think some of these backgrounds look like a painting!  I think I’m also partial to this session because adorable A was involved.  A toddler brings so much joy and energy to a maternity session.  What fun memories!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

I always have so much fun photographing this gorgeous little lady because our sessions feel much more like a play date than a portrait session.  She loves trying out all of our toys and exploring the studio.  We tossed around balloons for her 2nd birthday, dressed up together with our huge box of jewelery, and she even helped me water my garden!  Mix that in with plenty of twirls and giggles, and we ended up with a pretty awesome session that is perfectly “2″!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Every time I see the L family, we leave saying “I wish we lived closer together!”  Mom and drove down from the North Shore of Boston once again for a session at our studio.  I am always so thankful they make the trip because they are the sweetest of clients, we always have an amazing session, and we truly count them as our friends here.  What a great job this is, being able to watch families grow and feeling like you get to be a small part of all of the good memories.  I couldn’t wait to meet the newest addition to the family.  Mom emailed me just a few days before our session and said “did you look at the forecast?”  Finally, a warm spring day for New England!  It went up into the high seventies, so we decided to take a few photos outdoors at the end of our session.  This spot is right on Narragansett Bay, very close to our new studio location!  While it was a gorgeous day inland, it was still a bit chilly for a newborn out by the coast.  The ideal time to try some newborn portraits outdoors is when it is up over 80 degrees.  We kept T wrapped up in a cuddly blanket and away from the wind and sun and managed to pull off some pretty adorable seaside pictures!  Enjoy your sneak peek.

There are sessions when I spend a whole hour just trying to get a big sibling in the same FRAME as their newborn brother or sister.  Not with this family!  Big sister A loved being in front of the camera and loved showering her new baby brother with kisses.  Newborn A was just as content as could be.  This session was especially fun to look forward to because I was let in on a little secret that no one besides the ultrasound tech knew… a BOY would be joining the family.  I could barely contain myself during our pre-session as mom talked about flowers and gardens and all along I knew this would be a session filled with blue!  I was sure I was going to slip and call him a “he.”  Finally, I could talk to mom again when the secret was out.  I am overjoyed looking at all of the sweet moments we captured of the W family welcoming their new baby boy.  Big sister rocked every possible sibling photo I could think of for this age and then she played so nicely for the rest of our session.  Newborn A rocked his individual portraits too, but he mostly just loved to be cuddled.  I can’t wait to show you the rest mom and dad!

If you love Pinterest like we do, you’ve surely seen some of these portraits pinned.  It has to be one of our most popular shoots of all time!  Kerri Cupcake and I planned it all out back in 2010.  We wanted to do something creative and fun just for ourselves.  Kerri and Sweet Indulgence designed this amazing confections table with every treat imaginable while the HHP team and I transformed the studio into a Mermaid paradise with hanging lanterns, silk pillows, soft streamers, a real sand floor and bubbles galore!  We gathered up a group of adorable girls ranging from 2-5 and we let them dance and play in their dream world.  Most of them didn’t want to leave.  This shoot made a beautiful spread in the 2012 issue of Bliss Celebrations magazine and has made countless pin boards and blogs since!  Here it is, The Heidi Hope Photography and Sweet Indulgence Mermaid Party from early 2011.

I know I say it a lot, but one of the things I love most about my job is watching families grow.  Capturing each new baby as they enter the world and join a family amazes me every time.  This family has been coming to me for portraits since mom was pregnant with her first.  Big sister A was one of the first newborns I photographed ever (perhaps a Throwback Thursday post to come?).  They were back again with the birth of little brother J, now 2, and I was thrilled to hear the news that a third sweet baby would be joining the family.  All in all, this was their 9th session with me!  It’s no wonder that I love these kids like my own when I see them again!  Baby L was just as perfect as her big brother and sister… only, I was very surprised to see a full head of brown hair on this one!  Other than that, she looks just like her big brother and sister did as babies… lucky girl!  Enjoy your sneak peek P family.  Thank you for another perfect “session” as A would say!

I’m always so excited to visit with the E family.  They came into the studio last week for a Little Star Session with C, who is now 2 years old.  He loved everything that moved.  Tractors, trains, airplanes, firetrucks… I broke out everything we own with wheels for this little guy.  I don’t think he even knew he was having his picture taken!  To tell you the truth, I was having so much fun, I kind-of forgot too!  Enjoy your sneak peek.

2 year old boy portraits

I have been loving our Newborn and Family sessions lately.  Watching big siblings welcome a new baby into the world has to be one of the greatest moments in the story of a family.  I can see these photos being pulled out at high school graduations and on wedding days.  Of all of the photos from when my second daughter Grace was born, my favorites are the portraits I have of Giuliana holding her.  The wonder and joy on the faces of children as they love on their new baby is so beautiful!  We started our session full of family fun and then it was C’s turn to steal the show.  After all of the commotion, he was worn out!  He loved posing on the bean bag, and with some serious cluster feeding, he even slept like a champ for our last few sets.  Enjoy your sneak peek!  ~ Heidi
