I got a good laugh this morning remembering the days when I was nervous to have a toddler to photograph. They can certainly be hard to catch, but now, 1 year old is one of my favorite ages! They are so curious and have the best laugh. Maybe I just like that they appreciate my humor! Always a captive audience! I love goofing around with them and chasing them all over my studio! Baby D was a fast one, but we thought of endless games to keep him busy and smiling. Mom wanted a cake smash in classic baby boy colors. This is her youngest of 4 sons! I just love the way all of that blue turned out in the photos. Enjoy your sneak peek and happy birthday baby D!

Baby M and his family visited the studio last week to celebrate his first birthday. M has 3 older siblings who loved watching him smash his cake! It was such a joy to capture the way they all doted over their baby brother. Of course they were all rewarded with some cake for doing such an awesome job. With so many helpers, we didn’t let any of that Sweet Indulgence cake go to waste! YUM! Enjoy your sneak peek.

I’ve loved photographing this little guy and his family over the past year! Baby C is so easy-going, so his first birthday portrait session was all smiles. He is so smart too. I loved watching his face light up when we sang the songs he loves. And his cake smash was perfectly “baby boy.” We made it to match his nursery and it is one of my favorite color schemes yet. Happy birthday C!

I have loved watching baby K grow over the past year. He is always so easy going and has the best sense of humor. I was excited to plan his cake smash with an airplane theme and when I passed by the little cream airplane while shopping one day, I knew it would be perfect for his session. It’s so hard to find good-looking baby toys, so I never pass one up when I see it. K had fun with all of the toys at the studio and I think this was his best session yet! Mom and dad always order an album, so I photographed this session with an album in mind, capturing lots of little details, straight down to K’s little frosting footprints! Great seeing you again mom and dad. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Another one of my sweet newborns from 2010 is turning one year old!

I had the pleasure of catching up with sweet baby A during our minis this summer, so was thrilled to hear she would be back again for a cake smash. A was on the move this time and gave us some serious exercise for each shot. Thank goodness for my trusty blocks. They were a godsend in keeping A entertained in front of my camera! It was so fun capturing another one of A’s milestones. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Baby C might win the award for our greatest traveler of 2011! We’ve had clients visit our little studio from all around New England and the East Coast, but apart from baby A from London earlier this year, baby C is one of our farthest little travelers to date. And what a good traveler she was! We had a fabulous session together. C was curious and on the move. She loved exploring all of our toys and flashed me so many great big smiles it will surely be hard to choose favorites. Of course my favorite portraits are always those where little ones seem to be staring right through the lens. Those eyes just melt me. Mom wanted an enchanted forest theme for the cake smash so we had fun coming up with something whimsical that still kept with our light, fresh aesthetic. I love the way it all came together, and C really loved devouring her cake! Enjoy your sneak peek!

I was so excited to see baby D again and celebrate his first birthday! I last saw him at his newborn session and I still can’t get over how fast he’s grown up.

Seems like just yesterday! He is now such a big boy. I just love those curls and big blue eyes. We had so much fun watching him enjoy his birthday cake last week! Enjoy your sneak peek, and happy birthday D.

Last week we celebrated baby R’s first birthday with a cake smash that was all “girl”. Today is her actual birthday, so it’s a perfect day for this post! R has been photogenic since she was born. Those long lashes and amazing eyes completely steal the show, just as they did in her newborn session. I loved seeing her and her family again to celebrate this milestone, although I must admit, I’m feeling all sentimental and a little sad now that she’s already turning one! So since I’m feeling sentimental, I’ll go ahead and take you through our past year.

R loved her cake and was literally elbow deep in it at some points! Thanks for such a fun day. Enjoy your sneak peek and Happy Birthday!

Baby R completely stole my heart last week. He had the easiest personality and those big brown eyes made me melt. I could have played all day! We finished his session with an “all-boy” cake smash incorporating the family’s favorite sports. My husband actually wants to hang that Patriots decoration I made in our home! Enjoy your sneak peek!

It was so fun to catch up with this family last week. I last saw them for big brothers cake smash when he turned one year old. If I remember it was a 90 degree day and all of us were melting outside with the cake! This time it was little brother A’s turn and we had his cake smash in the studio. We started with some sibling portraits and the two boys did so great. They were full of smiles for me! Then A dug right in to his cake. Can’t wait to show you the rest mom and dad. Happy birthday A!
