Newborn baby T was a perfect little princess at our session. She was a peanut, weighing just 6 pounds, and all of her features were so tiny and beautiful. She looked just like a doll! Some of my favorite shots are actually after she woke up when she gazed straight into the camera. She looks even tinier in mom and dad’s hands. Enjoy your sneak peek!

What a day we had last Monday! We were getting things ready for the day in the basement of the studio when everything went dark. Not just dark actually, pitch black. We all screamed and stumbled for our cell phones to light the way out of the basement. We made it upstairs to find that a giant 18 wheeler hit the power lines outside of our building, ripping the lines right off. Thankfully it was a bright sunny day, so we went ahead with our two sessions and operated our whole studio out of the one room that had windows, the shooting room. It felt a little like a hurricane party. Because we lost our heat along with our power, we even had to keep the door to the shooting room closed to keep in the warmth from the sun. So mom, dad, newborn R, 16 month old big brother, aunty and I… and occasionally Shaun, Meredith, and Meg…. all together had a nice visit during R’s session! We started with some family portraits and attempted a few sibling portraits. I love the portrait we got of the two of them laying together below. I know mom and dad will love to look back and see how small they once were together. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding big brother R for his newborn session! Then we got out our flashlights and picked out some colorful props for R. Mom wanted something very colorful and girly. As soon as she mentioned “candy colors” I knew just who to call. Sweet Indulgence was closed but Kerri Cupcake still managed to make our day so much sweeter when she delivered some picture perfect candy for our set! I love the way everything turned out. Enjoy your sneak peek!

We started baby R’s session with her gazing around the studio. I love to capture family portraits during baby’s awake time so we began the session with R curled up in mom and dad’s arms. Once baby R drifted off into dream land, she was super sleepy for me! One of my favorite sets was the simple white set below where we were able to incorporate an outfit knit by her grandmother. It was still a little to big to wear, so we placed it in the bowl and let R snuggle in. What a wonderful keepsake! I think the close up of R sleeping is another new favorite. There is nothing like the simple details of a sleeping newborn to remind you of how miraculous life truly is. Enjoy your sneak peek!

When we started our session together baby J still wanted to check the place out, but before long he was putty in my hands! Once he fell asleep he was a great little poser. He rocked three adorable sets and we wrapped up with some beautiful family portraits. Enjoy your sneak peek!

This is one session of which I could blog every image for the sneak peek! While I did leave plenty to surprise mom and dad in the final gallery, I couldn’t resist sharing a little extra of this family sweetness with you today. The A family of 6 visited the studio for their newest member’s newborn session just before Christmas and we had such a nice morning together. We focused much of the session on photographing everyone together welcoming newborn and then created some classic newborn portraits at the end. I just love all of the joy we captured and I know these are sure to be cherished! Enjoy your sneak peek!

My December newborns have been so alert! Baby H went from awake, to asleep, to awake again, to asleep again. I loved using his awake time to capture all of his perfect little details and his eyes wide open. I think newborns look so different when awake, so I love to catch them looking around if I can. Those are always grandparent’s favorite shots too! Of course baby H did sleep nice and soundly for us in between and we created some beautiful portraits of him all curled up. I even made mom and dad jump in a few, and I can’t wait to show them. I know they’ll be so happy once they see what we captured together. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Sweet baby P was such a doll to photograph last week. She was so fair with the most perfect rosy cheeks. She was alert for a good portion of our session together so we were able to get some beautiful family portraits and capture her eyes wide open! The portraits were so gorgeous in color, but I was really feeling the black and white today! I love seeing mom and dad cuddle baby. I have virtually no pictures with Giuliana as an infant, so I have to make sure we do this the second time around. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Baby G was so sweet and sleepy for our newborn session last week. Already a little princess, her session was full of girly little details! She looks just like a tiny doll in all of these. I met mom and dad back before their maternity session so I was anxiously awaiting the good news of their arrival. What’s most exciting is that G is one of my newest baby planners, so I get to watch her grow up all year long! Enjoy your sneak peek.

Our busiest month of newborns is sadly winding down. In fact last week were some of my last newborns for a little stretch and the fact that they were all so adorable only makes me miss my newborns even more this week! Baby E was so good to me. He was nice and sleepy and loved being posed. He smiled throughout our session, from the time I first placed him on the bean bag until the very end with mom and dad. Enjoy your sneak peek!

How adorable is this little guy?! The beautiful blue hat in the first portrait was knit by his great grandmother. He looks so sweet cuddled up in it. B was a good sleeper for me, but didn’t much like his hands posed. Every time I would have him set just right he would snatch them right back in! He already knew just what he wanted. With that grip, he’s sure to be a little athlete! B was too big for our tiny pumpkin basket, but he actually did one better and slept on a real one for us! I love all of the family portraits we created the best. I can’t wait for you to see the rest mom and dad! Enjoy your sneak peek!
