I haven’t seen baby V since her newborn session last year and she is every bit as beautiful at 1 year old as she was at just a few days old! I remember swooning over her gorgeous lashes at her newborn session and they still grace those big brown eyes. V’s sleepy days are now replaced with toddling around and exploring her world. She was sometimes serious and sometimes full of smiles, but always a little princess! Mom wanted something soft and girly for the cake smash and Sweet Indulgence’s ballerina cake complimented our set perfectly. Enjoy your sneak peek!

I can’t believe another one of my adorable baby planners is graduating! I have loved getting to know this family over the past year and capturing their special milestones with baby J. My baby planners feel like family to me by the time the year is over, and like always, this cake smash was a little bittersweet. I wanted to ask mom and dad, “when are you having another one?!” as they left. J was a happy little guy as always and he managed to get covered in cake in a matter of seconds. I just adore that little dimple! Enjoy your sneak peek!

I last saw this adorable little man over a year ago when he was just 1 month old. He visited the studio last week to celebrate his first birthday, this time with an entourage! G was quick on his feet and gave us all a good work out. In Gucci from head to toe he had no shortage of style AND personality. He even let me wear those fabulous shades. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Another one of my 2011 newborns celebrated their big first birthday with us last week! I think my favorite part of doing cake smashes, besides the studio smelling so yummy, is that I get to see all of the adorable babies I once cuddled and capture their big personalities. We had a great session with baby L. Classic baby boy met nautical in each of our sets and L had a ball the whole way through. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Another one of my adorable baby planners is celebrating his first birthday. Baby Z visited the studio last week for his first birthday cake smash portrait session and we had such fun together. He is such a happy baby and those big blue eyes make me melt. Such a charmer! We started with his traditional portraits and then created a St. Patrick’s day themed set for him to dig into his well-earned treat. He laughed and smiled the whole way through our session. Can’t wait to show you the rest mom and dad. Enjoy the sneak peek!

I was so excited to see baby H again for his first birthday. I last saw this gorgeous family for their maternity and newborn sessions and can hardly believe it has already been a year! Baby H has gotten so big. He was so sweet and full of smiles. One of the easiest 1-year-olds I’ve ever photographed! We started with some family portraits and topped the session off with a cake smash to celebrate H’s first birthday. H loved his cake, especially getting his feet in it. I’m still cracking up over these. Enjoy your sneak peek!

I’m always excited to see baby S on my calendar. I love catching up with mom and dad and S gets even more gorgeous (and well dressed) by the second. When mom told me she had purchased this outfit from The Measure, a local children’s clothing boutique out of Boston Ma, for S’s Little Star Session I was so excited to style a little set around it. Soft grays and touches of lace made a perfect place for S to play that was all little girl. At 18 months S was very busy and loved exploring all of our toys. She warmed right up and mom later told me that she was saying “Hi-yee” (translation: Heidi) the whole way home in the car! MELT. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Baby C was so fun to photograph last week for his little star session. He was a 1 year old on the move, but being busy didn’t stop him from smiling his session away. Those big blue eyes just make me melt and we captured the sweetest expressions from start to finish. He did, however, make it out of my suitcase in about 2 seconds flat (usually that is my trusty way to contain a toddler for a few seconds)! I love the way these turned out and can’t wait to show mom and dad the rest! Enjoy your sneak peek.

I had so much fun celebrating J’s first birthday last week. I haven’t seen him since he was just a few days old so I couldn’t get over how much he has grown! J was a typical boy on the move who loved exploring the studio. At one point we were trying to get his attention and mom grabbed her cell phone to play his favorite song. On comes “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 and you should have seen J move! He was so excited, he started dancing up a storm. I’m laughing just looking at all of these pictures for the preview. Then it was time to get down to business with his cake. I love the way our nautical set turned out and J really seemed to enjoy himself in it. Happy birthday baby J! Enjoy your sneak peek!

And because I can’t go without sharing one of how teeny J was just a year ago:

What a day we had last Monday! We were getting things ready for the day in the basement of the studio when everything went dark. Not just dark actually, pitch black. We all screamed and stumbled for our cell phones to light the way out of the basement. We made it upstairs to find that a giant 18 wheeler hit the power lines outside of our building, ripping the lines right off. Thankfully it was a bright sunny day, so we went ahead with our two sessions and operated our whole studio out of the one room that had windows, the shooting room. It felt a little like a hurricane party. Because we lost our heat along with our power, we even had to keep the door to the shooting room closed to keep in the warmth from the sun. So mom, dad, newborn R, 16 month old big brother, aunty and I… and occasionally Shaun, Meredith, and Meg…. all together had a nice visit during R’s session! We started with some family portraits and attempted a few sibling portraits. I love the portrait we got of the two of them laying together below. I know mom and dad will love to look back and see how small they once were together. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding big brother R for his newborn session! Then we got out our flashlights and picked out some colorful props for R. Mom wanted something very colorful and girly. As soon as she mentioned “candy colors” I knew just who to call. Sweet Indulgence was closed but Kerri Cupcake still managed to make our day so much sweeter when she delivered some picture perfect candy for our set! I love the way everything turned out. Enjoy your sneak peek!
